Horn went “Beep”! Engine purred. Friendliest sounds you ever heard...If you have a toddler, you are probably familiar with the book Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle. Between the trucks, animals and playful rhyming, this is sure to be a favorite!
We decided to host a Little Blue Truck Play Date and invited our friends to bring their favorite truck or farm animal to share. It worked out great because everybody loved checking out each other’s toys. I found these Annie’s Bernie’s Farm Animal Cookies that are as tasty as they are adorable. They also have farm shaped crackers and mac & cheese that my kids love.
I found these adorable printables for coloring from Twisty Noodle and Buggy & Buddy. My intentions were to have the kids cut and glue the animals onto the truck, but they were having too much fun playing!
Have you read the sequel, Little Blue Truck Leads the Way? There is also Little Blue Truck’s Halloween that is available for pre-order (and it has lift-the-flaps)! We happened to find Little Blue Truck’s Christmas at the library and the twinkle lights are too cute! I had no idea there were so many books in this series. Here are some more Little Blue Truck and farm toy links that are just too hard to pass up! We put out other truck and farm books that we love. The kids really enjoyed looking at all of the different books.
Overall we had another successful play date for the books! Are there any truck books that I am missing for my little ones? What truck activities have you had success with that worked for your kids?
