Where the Wild Things Are 1st Birthday

As I have posted in the past, I am not the best at getting around to posting about my children’s birthday parties. When I posted my son’s last party, I realized that I never got around to sharing Oliver’s first birthday. A Where the Wild Things Are party has also since become fairly popular, but still cute none the less. While Oliver is currently in the stages of approaching the Big-3, let’s take it back once again to revisit his very 1st Birthday.

This was my very first time planning a kid party, so I went with Tiny Prints for our invitations.

We had the party at his grandparent’s house in Burton, TX and I was inspired by a woodland theme. January in Texas is always hit or miss because you have no idea if it’s going to be cold or hot outside, so I decided to play it safe and have it inside.

We made french fries, sliders and grilled cheese for the food.

I made the Let the Wild Rumpus Start printable and found most of the monsters on Ebay (even still with tags on them).

I tried my hand at the mini s’mores and even some hand-lettering on leaves.

We went all out for this party with this Mini Number One Gold Crown and we found the onesie on Etsy (the original seller no longer sells this one but there are a ton like it if you just do a generic search)

Sooooo little! I can’t believe he is about to be 3! Here is where I found my inspiration for this party. I think Fall is the perfect weather for this!
